About
Based on the Island
Island City Garage Door works out of Alameda and covers the East Bay. Springs, openers, cables, rollers, off-track doors, panels and new installations.
Why the prices are on the site
Most garage door companies won't publish a number. That seems the wrong way round. You're standing in a driveway with a door that won't move, and the first thing you want to know is roughly what this is going to cost. So the ranges are published, and the firm figure is written down before anything is touched.
We fix what is broken
An opener that won't respond usually needs a gear, not a new machine. A remote that stopped working usually needs a battery. When a repair genuinely isn't worth doing we'll say that too, and explain why.
Doors on the Island are different
Salt air works on garage door hardware. Around Bay Farm and along the shoreline, roller bearings corrode, springs pit and track rusts on doors that would still be fine three miles inland. Galvanized hardware costs a little more and lasts considerably longer here, so we bring it up rather than quietly fitting the cheaper part.
Hours
Open 24 hours, seven days a week. A spring goes at six in the morning as often as it goes at midnight, so the phone is answered either way. If a car is trapped behind the door, say so when you call and we'll move you up the list.
Tell us what it's doing
You get the price before we drive out, and someone picks up whatever time you call.
